94. Healthcare Originations/Relationship Management, Healthcare Investment Fund

Our client, a healthcare investment platform with a focus spanning healthcare services and life sciences, would like to add an experienced Originator/Relationship Manager. The fund has a differentiated approach to investing in public and private credit and equity opportunities across small, medium, and large cap companies. This role will focus on originating capital solutions for companies that are in acquisition mode, seek growth financing, need to restructure debt or are in or approaching bankruptcy. Instruments include bespoke convertible debt, first lien and term loans with a structured component, and to a lesser degree royalties. The originator will also look for strategic market opportunities for their portfolio companies. The Originator will maintain an active calling program focused on mainly small to midcap healthcare companies to establish and build rapport with the CEOs, CFOs, and IR heads, to educate them about the fund’s investments and portfolio. The Originator will learn about the companies, their opportunities, and challenges. Transactions are marked by an understanding of the science of the assets and a high level of financial complexity.  The investment teams operate collaboratively across all strategies and levels, and investment team members have a practical and academic interest in the science. The Originator will maintain an active travel schedule and will also play a major role in the fund’s conferences. While the fund strongly prefers that the Originator live in the NY area, there is flexibility on location due to the heavy travel schedule.

The strongest candidates have investment banking experience plus additional experience in Corporate/Strategic/Business Development in a healthcare services or life sciences company. Additional healthcare buyside or healthcare corporate IR experience is also relevant. Candidates must have expertise in networking, an academic interest in the science of healthcare, and enthusiasm for engaging in topics of interest to the target companies. There is no set level for this role. The fund will consider any qualified candidates with ten years or more of experience. Base salary will range from $250-350,000+ bonus. Qualified candidates may forward a resume, preferably in Word, to our website. All inquiries will be treated confidentially.
